Brodo

25 03 2009

So Liam and I went to Brodo for lunch today, and it was amazingly delicious.  :)   We got:

Appetizers

Flight of Three Soups (The waiter chose for me: Potato Leek, Brodo, Beef Vegetable)

Warm Spinach & Artichoke Dip, Asiago, Toasted Pita

Focaccia

Grilled Steak, Sauteed Peppers & Onions, Bourbon BBQ, Pepper Jack

Gulf Shrimp, Banana Peppers, Tomatoes, Basil, Mozzarella

Can I just repeat how much I loved, loved, loved the “Brodo” soup?  It had a slight kick to it that was just amazingly good.  We’re going to start going to more restaurants I’ve yet to go to in Buffalo (e.g. Sample and Europa).  It’s strange that I’m finally enjoying what this city has to offer.

And I meant every word I said.

4 02 2009

I am literally counting down the weeks until this semester is over.  I can not wait for it be over with.  I love listening to the radio.  92.9, bitches.

Amy Marin cancelled for Friday.  Bitch.  :D   So instead I’m doing Elmwood with Samantha Barter! and perhaps Broomz.  Who knowz.

Sa-man-tha!

And then watching movies.

Mmm, cheeze its.

3 02 2009

Even though I am exhausted, life is good.  Very good.  I spent Saturday night and half of Sunday with Mail (he had to work at 4).  And then we went out to lunch today.  We were going to go to this Indian buffet place that he was telling me about that’s on Delaware, but apparently they’re only closed (during the workweek) on Mondays for lunch.  So we went to Saigon Cafe instead.  It was just as good, the food barely matters anyway.  LoL.  I’m picking him up from school on Wednesday so that we can spend a few hours together.  It’s nice knowing that there are nice people out there.

On that note, Jason’s been texting me all night (oh what a transition!)  And it’s been awkward.  Especially since he was drunk part way through the conversation and told me that I was able to pull off the ‘cute and nice’ thing that’s worth wanting a relationship with.  Which confused me, and then made me laugh.

Oatmeal Time!

29 01 2009

Am I really that much of an outlier of the community?  Probably.  :)

Also, 13 was my maximum for the push up plan today.  One more than the minimum for the last set.  Yay!

Nobody, that’s who!

26 01 2009

Day one of that 100 push up plan.  My arms fucking hurt.  My initial test was pitiful at 11, but it’s more than double what I could do in high school during those “presidential fitness tests”.  I decided to do it while on lunch at work (productive!)  I’m getting down.  I just want a flat stomach, yo.  :(

I’m also trying to get back into Java.  I just need a computer back, :) .  And not to step on my glasses, :( .  Also, bread baking isn’t going to work particularly well at Bruml’s house I fear.  Maybe I’ll find a kitchen to use.  Particularly one with a big marble slab ;) Haha.  Who would turn down me with puppy dog eyes and a bag of ingredients, “I wanna make bread.  I’ll make chili too.  :( (((((“  [And Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno thingies (found at thepioneerwoman.com).  And Spicy Guinness Mustard.  And different kinds of chicken wings.  And Salsa Burritos.  God, I'm a fatty.]

Nobody, that’s who.

And thank Jesus for the people that talked me out of homicide on Sunday morning.  Especially Timmmmmmm.

100 Pushups

21 01 2009

I am eating pasta with garlic pasta sauce.  Mmm.  It felt good to boil water on the stove instead of fucking around with the microwave.

I think that I’m going to try the 100 Pushup plan.  I’m unsure how many I can do now.  I’ll probably go check it out in the other data center later ;) (I am shaky right now).

Yeast-Infected Bread

20 01 2009

I am sick of the inaugural bullshit.  I just want it done and over with and I want that man in office and doing what he was elected to do.  I do not expect much; he is a politician after all.  Hopefully he works to end discrimination based on orientation at one point though.

In other news, I made the most disgusting sounding (but surprisingly decent tasting) lunch today.  I had a green pepper that’s a couple days from going bad and the meal that I was going to use it in, I didn’t make.  So I halved the green pepper and gutted it.  I then set half of it in a bowl so that the green pepper could act as a bowl.  I proceeded to pour one scrambled egg into it, and added a little pepper, Frank’s, and basil.  After microwaving it until the egg was done, I ate it.  And it wasn’t disgusting.  Although I’ll not try adding curry powder to the puffy cheese wedges again…it just didn’t work as I wanted it to.  :(   I have to go grocery shopping again soon :D .  I never realized that a substitution for buttermilk was a mixture of vinegar and milk.  Also, I want to make bread.  So I’ll have to get my Reinhart book back from mom and buy some yeast.

I’ll probably end up cleaning the microwave tonight when I get out of work.  Last night, I did the dishes and cleaned off the one counter.  I’m going to try to see if I can’t slowly take over the kitchen and living room to get them into organized order.  Baby steps, baby steps.

I’ll Help You Carry On

19 01 2009

I got to see mom again today because I forgot my “Legal Environment” textbook at her house.  Oops.  I’m trying to be a good student for my last semester and I’m trying to actual reading the entire book for every class.  Unlike last semester with that ridiculous MGG300 class that bored the tears out of me and stopped me from sleeping.  Which reminds me that I will not get to go to sleep until at least 2 pm today.  Grr.

Today’s schedule includes the gym.  And I am tired.  My short term goal is to get under 163 (about 5 pounds), so that I can viciously mock Tony for not only being (slightly) shorter than me but also for being heavier than me.  That’s what he gets for consistently calling me fat.  Gotta get little in the middle.  :)

Also, I want a panini now.  Also, it should have basil, tomatoes, and mozzarella on it.  Mmm, margarita panini.  Or a grilled cheese sammich.  With pepper jack cheese.  Some like it hot; I like it real hot.

IMS

16 01 2009

IMS is Irritable Male Syndrome, the boy version of PMS (and less bloody.  Unless I’m allowed to punch someone.)  I think that I may be on the rag.  In the first three hours that I was awake, I cried twice.  And I can’t even say why, just that they flowed.  At least I will be seeing momz after work and she’s doing a meat fondue for dinner (which neither of us have had in forever).

I got two of my textbooks delivered today.  That was good.  :)   But no supplements.  They’ll probably come in tomorrow, knowing my luck.  I should be reading, but I want to watch The Riches.  So I will do what I want.

Cheater, Cheater

15 01 2009

Today, I believe that I saw Mikey. And it was hilarious because I was being my usual bouncy, obnoxious self and I thought I saw him while I was walking with Steph and Danielle so I did a spin to make sure that I did. Also, I half-loved Sarah today. Because she asked me if I lost any weight. Of course, when I said, “No” and asked her why, it’s apparently I’m looking “particularly gaunt today”. :(
After today’s book buying spree, I cried. But there are 16 weeks left until I graduate! Yay! And then, who knows. It all depends on the state of the economy, on the job market, on where the jobs are (I have no strong ties to Buffalo), and if I am SMRT enough to be hired. Either way, I have already started writing my wedding vows for my hysterical 80s wedding (I just want huge shoulder pads and big, bad hair!) They go:

You are the Sonny to my Cher, the Bert to my Ernie, the Tweedledum to my Tweedledee, the Weeble to my Wobble and I hope that you never fall down.

I am ridiculously retarded.  Well, off to read textbooks.  Oh, joy.
